This is the story of InnovationX the ‘start-up of an explorer’. I still remember it was one morning of December 2017,
it’s been 5 months in the college and the 1st semester was about to end. I was working for my (mentor) senior’s
startup I.e. UMBEO. I was always listening to adventures, experiences, and challenges of being an entrepreneur.
I was always an explorer and wanted to explore the hardships and joys of an entrepreneur. But I was lacking with
two important things first is the idea on which we would start a company and the right partner(sidekick/friend).

So for a significant period of time, I was trying to find the best ideas for a successful start-up and to be honest I was
nowhere near any idea that was as I say the best idea. For ideas, I even went to national hackathons
(like Rajasthan Hackathon 4.0& 5.0) and start-up weekend just for a glimpse of the thought process of other
people and still didn’t found anything that I could do with my skill set.

Thus, one day when I was visiting a hospital for my eye check-up (near November 2018) I realized that while an
authority like AIIMS is providing an online portal for an appointment yet people from the rural areas are
waiting for more than 7 days just because they didn’t make a re-appointment. That day I realized that people
(Indigent) from the rural and suburban areas are facing a huge problem regarding medical facilities just because
of lack of awareness and resources (like smartphones and Internet). I decided to develop an application
(now called Doctor Medico yet to deploy) that would provide an online portal to people with a basics phone
and they can book an appointment with the help of their Adhar Number and phone number.

That day I understood two things, first that ideas are born out of serious need rather than random thoughts and second that an entrepreneur must open his eyes and look for problems and are affecting the lives of people. Thus, it took me almost a year to have something to start with. Till then I found a partner(sidekick) who was always there with me every day in the search of ideas. As an amateur, without analyzing the solution to the problem I started creating something (for like 2-3 months) that I thought is enough to solve the problem. I took help from the E-cell (a department in my college that helps new start-ups to grow). During the meeting the people there made us realize that our solution is somehow going against the law (i.e. you can’t store medical records of a person, even if he allows you to do such).
To explain the gravity of the situation it’s like breaking the backbone of a person and then ask him to walk. Yes,
it’s stupid to think about a person walking without a backbone. My idea has lost its backbone and was about
to get an abrupt end, this would ultimately result to start from zero or quitting this career and finding
something else. For people who never developed a product for your own company let me tell you that it’s
not just a product, it’s your first creation. It’s just like your own child.

Since you guys are seeing a logo on the top of the document, thus the good news is the company is now a
service based company that provide technical services to companies as well as college societies.

I went back to my mentor and described him my situation and he was just laughing on the situation. I didn’t
like it and asked him to stop making fun. Then, he told me the stories of his children (products that he took
months to develop) been lapsed (ended) in just minutes while talking to investors (the point where your
product is waiting for a yes and you start earning out of it). Then he said this one line I remember "Only the
paranoid survive." (originally quoted by -Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel). I understood the point.

So I resumed with the refining of my product(child), exploring alternative ways to achieve the final goal. Thus,
I came by a new society ‘Think Big-Data’ who asked me to prepare a logo reveal video for their inauguration
(13th February 2019) so I made one. The video became so popular that now societies from different colleges
are approaching us for their technical stuff (like websites, poster, videos). We are now replacing the technical
the team of every society possible and yes as a start-up we starting earning out of it.

Also, I am still meeting investors to keep my first creation alive and I am trying my best to make that happen. But,
as people say somethings are men to leave so that one can move forward in their journey, yet I hope this is not
the one and the best is yet to come. Thus this is the story of InnovationX the start-up of an explorer.
